Roman Near East. Early second century AD. Lead weight (5.5 x 5 cm, 68.75 g). Greek legend LΠP above two monograms (NE and HV(?)) within square border with two dots on each side. LΠP is the Greek date "Year 180” and must certainly refer to a dating era . The popular Seleucid Era (counting from 312 BC) would make the date equivalent to 133/2 BC, but the style seems later. A better choice might be the Pompeian Era (counting from 63 BC) which was used by many Near Eastern cities and would make the date equivalent to AD 116/17.
