ROMAN PROVINCIAL. 3rd century AD. Lead bulla (16 x 13 mm).
Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed male bust r., with short beard; to r., ON..CIX(?). Judging from the cuirass and military hairstyle and short beard, the seal that impressed this bulla belonged to a soldier in the third century AD. The style is reminiscent of coin and sculptural portraits of Philip I "the Arab."
